Two Charles City residents and another person were injured in a three-car collision Saturday morning in Bremer County.

According to a report by the Iowa State Patrol, a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus sedan driven by Donald D. Fairholm, age 48, of Charles City was northbound on U.S. Highway 218 south of Nashua at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Bambi K. Teska, age 57, of Charles City, was following Fairholm at a slow speed in a 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, according to the report, when her vehicle was struck in the rear, forcing it to hit the Fairholm vehicle.

The third vehicle, a 2015 Ford van, was driven by James E. Garner, age 49, of Dunlap, Illinois, and hit the Teska vehicle “at a high rate of speed,” the Patrol report said.

All three persons were reported injured and transported to Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City. All three were wearing their seatbelts, the report said.

The accident remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office and Nashua Fire and Rescue.
