Charles City High School announces homecoming royalty

Charles City High School has announced its 2018 homecoming court.

Ten students will represent the school district during this year’s Homecoming Week, which begins Monday, Sept. 24. Members of this year’s court are Whitney Martin, Samantha Heyer, Olivia Wolfe, Samantha Alinea. Guinevere Calpito, Mason Deeter, Dylan Koresh, Alec Elsbernd, Cole Reams and Jack Field.

The homecoming king and queen will be crowned at 2:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, during the pep rally at Comet Gym. The rally begins at 2 p.m.

The court will also be featured during the homecoming parade on Main Street next Friday, which begins at 4:15 p.m., and before the start of the varsity football game against Decorah, at 7:10 p.m. on Comet Field.

The theme for homecoming this year is “Burning Up the Competition.” Special dress-up days for the week will start with “Meme Monday” at the high school, while the elementary schools will have “Mismatch Monday.”

The rest of the week’s dress-up days are Tropical Tuesday, Winter Wonderland Wednesday, Character/Dynamic Duo Day on Thursday and Orange and Black Blowout on Friday for all schools.
