CC Police search three residences in burglary investigation

Staff report

Two search warrants executed Friday morning did not yield stolen items in a Charles City Police Department investigation, Police Chief Hugh Anderson said.

The department was following up on a possible burglary from Jan. 17. With assistance from the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, police searched a residence in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue and another residence in the 200 block of 1st Avenue. No items were found, but narcotics were located at the 1st Avenue residence, Anderson said. No arrests have been made but charges are pending.

Police also executed a search warrant in Nashua, with assistance from the Nashua Police Department. The missing items are home goods, but aren’t being released as the investigation is ongoing, Anderson said.
