Brrr: Police aid frozen duck in blustery call

As below-freezing temperatures ushered in 2018, Charles City police got an unusual call for help.

The police department posted a selfie on Facebook of Officer Dario Gamino, after he rescued a frozen duck on Clark Street earlier this week.

The post thanked the caller for noticing the male mallard on a “severely cold night,” and reported the duck was able to go off on his own a short time after Gamino found him.
