The 2018 All-District Band Concert Tuesday night at North Grand Auditorium filled enough seats so that some audience members resorted to standing in the back.
Directors Renee Boss and Jake Gassman featured music to warm the audience in the middle of winter by the Charles City middle and high school bands.
The High School Symphonic Band started out its set with “Alchemy,” featuring an experimental percussion section that included improvisation and percussion instruments made by the students.
The middle school bands directed by Boss played music with a more international flair.
