After reviewing river forecast and levels, organizers of the 2018 Charles City Whitewater Challenge have made the decision to postpone the event date. The annual event, which was scheduled to take place Saturday, features competitive activities for spectators and water enthusiasts. The new date is yet to be determined.

“We know experienced paddlers will embrace the above normal flows and we expect the riverfront to be active this weekend,” said Ginger Williams, Charles City tourism coordinator. “However, the Charles City Challenge is intended to serve a variety of skill levels and we want to hold this event to accommodate all participants. We apologize for this inconvenience, and will inform you when a new date has been determined.”
