Ardyce K. Poe, 69, of Ionia, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare in New Hampton.

A celebration of life for friends and family will be held at a later date in Ionia.

Ardyce Kay Poe was born Jan. 5, 1946, in Stillwater, Minn. She was the daughter of Edwin and Edna (Brecht) Roedel. Ardyce received her education in Charles City and was a 1964 graduate of the Charles City High School. Late in 1964, she married Jim Austin.

The couple later divorced. Upon graduation, she began working at the former White Farm Equipment Company in Charles City.

Ardyce worked as a secretary until the closing of the plant, at which time she took a position with attorney Jim Demro in his Nashua office.

On May 24, 1987, in Nashua, IA, she was united in marriage to Lyle “Eli” Poe. The couple lived their remaining years in Ionia. Ardyce loved the outdoors and time with her grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Janet) Austin of Austin, Minn., and Hunter (Tiffany) Jung of New Hampton; one daughter, Jeanette (Cory) Hobson of Ionia; seven grandchildren, Blaze Jung, Matthew (Chris) Brandt, Tyler (Haley Galligan) Rosonke, Abigail Liddle, Aaron (Jess) Mealy, Mitchell Mealy and Claire Austin; two great-grandchildren, Mason Mealy and Lily Kaye Mealy; and one brother, Marlin (Sherry) Roedel of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and one grandson, Jade Smith.lll
