Tommy Glen Allen

Tommy Glen Allen, 77, of Charles City, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City of complications with pneumonia.

According to Tom’s wishes cremation has taken place and the family will further honor Tom’s wishes with a private family memorial service.

Tom leaves his wife of 53 years, Carole (Hauser) Allen of Charles City; his daughter, Kristi (Steve) Booth of Laporte, Minn.; son, Bob (Kelley) Allen of Sheridan, Wyo.; and son, Scot Allen of Des Moines; brother, Richard (Charlotte) Allen of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren: Erin, Jackson, Kamrin, Kayla, Emma and Olivia; and brother-in-law, Jesse Limon of Long Beach, Calif.

Tom was preceded in death by his sister Mona and parents.

Born in Long Beach, Calif., the son of Clyde and Clara (Maricle) Allen, Tom met Carole, they married and raised their children in Long Beach, Calif., then moved to Sheridan, Wyo., and finally Charles City, Carole’s hometown. Tom worked in the food industry in California, the coal mines of Montana and for the Hauser Funeral Home.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He enjoyed fishing, reading, his pets, having coffee with friends and talking with old friends on the telephone. He was famous for his secret recipe beer-batter shrimp. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial donations may be made to the Floyd County Humane Society (PAWS).
