Steven Lonergan

Steven Lonergan, 60, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at his home.

Steve’s family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.

Steven Ray Lonergan, the son of Marvin and Marilyn (Thomas) Lonergan, was born May 19, 1956 in Waterloo.

He grew up and attended schools in the Waterloo area. Steve enjoyed working with his hands and was a self-employed carpenter in Iowa for several years before moving his business to Hutchinson, Minn. He continued in carpentry when he moved to Orlando, Fla. While in Florida, Steve also connected with a church where he found some solace in memorizing meaningful Bible passages. In recent years Steve moved to Charles City. He not only enjoyed working with his hands, but being active in his free time fishing and camping. Steve is now at peace.

Steve is survived by his parents; daughter: Nicole Lonergan; siblings: Denver (Trish) Leaman of Captain Cook, Hawaii; Lynnette (Ken) Dengler of Davenport; and Patricia (Jeffrey) Wagoner of Aloha, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Susan Lonergan; and nephew Jeremy Lonergan.
