Betty M. Pierce

Betty M. Pierce, 92, of Charles City, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

In agreement with her wishes, cremation will take place. Private committal service will take place at a later date.

Betty Mae (Habben) Pierce was born May 6, 1926 to Ben and Minnie (Engel) Habben in Shady Grove, Iowa. She graduated from Independence High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Marvin Pierce on July 12, 1947 at Decorah, Iowa.

She worked many years at First Security Bank, Edward D. Jones, and Nelson Tire before retiring.

Betty will be missed by her sons, Larry and Rick of Charles City; daughter, Becky Knoll of Des Moines; and granddaughter, Elizabeth of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; and parents.
