Troy Michael Reams

Troy Michael Reams, 39, of Greene, passed away in an automobile accident in Floyd on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018.

There will be a private family service held in honor of Troy.  Everyone is welcome to celebrate Troy’s life, on his birthday, at the Youth Enrichment Center at the Floyd County Fairgrounds from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018.

Troy was born Dec. 22, 1978 to Roberta Reams and Michael Reams of Charles City; he would have celebrated his 40th birthday on Saturday. He was a 1997 graduate of Charles City High School. Troy has always been a very hard worker. After graduating from high school, he began work at Allied Construction. He then transitioned to Morton Buildings where he has worked for the past 15 years. He married his long-time girlfriend Christina Reams on Oct. 30, 2009. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife, attending motorcycle rallies with his friends (he was a lifetime member of ABATE of Iowa and a member of Harley Owners Group [HOG] in Charles City), playing pool, throwing bags, and playing slow-pitch softball. He was also an avid antique collector. Troy was known for being generous, caring, and kind-hearted; he would do anything for anyone. He did everything in life on his own terms, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Troy is survived by his wife, Christina; daughter, Ripleigh; step-daughter, Harley Jo Hummel; step-son, Carter Hummel; parents: Mike Reams and Roberta Reams; siblings: Matt (Noelle) Reams, Danny (Angie) Reams, Kathy Mitchell, and Kent (Lindsay) Reams; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Emberlynn; paternal grandparents, James and Virginia Reams; and maternal grandfather Robert Sekander.
