Peggy C. Mackamul, 84, of Waterloo, formerly of Waverly and Charles City, passed away suddenly on Feb. 28 at Chandler, AZ, of natural causes. She was born on April 5, 1934 to AC Jones and Eva Mae O’Brien in Roswell, New Mexico.
On May 31, 1952 she was united in marriage to George L. Mackamul in Roswell, New Mexico. They enjoyed 61 years together. They made their home in Charles City and Bassett from 1960-1971.
Peggy was a winter resident in Coolidge, AZ Indian Skies Resort. She loved to spend time with family & friends. She enjoyed oil painting, swimming and gardening. Peggy worked at Salsbury Laboratories in Charles City and Macks Auto Trim in Bassett.
Peggy is survived by her children: Lourie (Dan) Usher of Waverly, Vicky Wellik of Fort Lawn, South Carolina, John (Gena) Mackamul of Waverly, and Amie Bridges of Columbus, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Peggy has been cremated and a Celebration of Life Service and burial will be held at a later date in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the family.
