Letter to the Editor: Do you wonder why our society is so depraved?

I hear the talking heads on the news programs showing scenes of carnage, devastation and people killing others. Once in a while at the end of their allotted time they may have a short story of a happy event. All the time they have an undercurrent wondering about what has happened to our society. Why is our American landscape so violent?
Stop and look at what has happened in the last 50 years in the schools, movies, prime time TV shows. They have gone from portraying harmonious families of two parents, one male and one female, with children and with rules and enforcing them.
They would have the family eating at the dinner table and of all things, discussing what happened to each other. The parents backed each other up when setting curfews and what to do when one of the children did something wrong. They even went to church together.
Then in 1962 the ball started rolling faster when the Bible was removed from the schools. Then prayer was banned on school property by not allowing students to have a voluntary prayer meeting. Banning prayer at sporting events, and then calling the Christmas vacation a winter holiday. The Ten Commandments were removed from the public square.
Then comes planned Parenthood and gets Congress and the courts to make abortion legal just because it might inconvenience you. They started calling the new life in the mother’s womb a fetus or just a clump of cells instead of it being a baby that is a live growing human. Now that human life has been reduced to the level of being an inconvenience, and life just lost the value that it was given by to it God.
Now man is playing god and deciding who shall live and who should perish in an environment that was designed by God to bring forth a new human baby to grow into a person and not just a clump of cells. Isn’t great that the abortionist can make money by killing a viable baby in its mother’s womb, while once it is born and growing and killed at the hand of another it is called murder and the murderer goes to prison.
The taking of another human life just because you can is still murder under God’s law.
