Hageman makes All-UMAC second team with UN-SP Eagles

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Charles City graduate Caleb Hageman was named to the All-Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball second team while finishing his senior season at University of Northwestern-St. Paul.

In his final season, Hageman was named to the All-UMAC second team after being an honorable-mention selection as a junior.

After being an All-UMAC honorable mention selection last season for the Eagles, Hageman averaged 12.2 points per games and pulled down 144 rebounds while helping his team claim the UMAC regular-season championship with a 15-1 conference record.

Hageman scored a career-high 28 points against Willamette earlier this season.

For the eighth time in nine seasons, the Eagles qualified for the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament and advanced to the second round before being defeated by University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The Eagles finished the season with an overall 23-8 record.

Other Eagles honored included junior Tanner Youngberg, who was selected to the All-UMAC first team after averaging a team-leading 13.8 ppg; and junior Anderson Bazile Jr., who was named honorable mention after averaging 13.0 ppg.

Eagles head coach Tim Grosz was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
