Staff Report

A young woman sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover accident early Wednesday afternoon on the Avenue of the Saints south of Charles City.

Cayley Chamberlin, 18, of Cedar Rapids, recently of Mason City, said she was traveling north on the Avenue and glanced down from the highway.

Her car’s tires caught the shoulder of the roadway and she lost control, crossing both lanes of traffic and rolling over into the south ditch. The vehicle came to rest on its top and hood.

Chamberlin, who said she was not wearing a seat belt, said her only injury was a small bruise.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
