Middle school band, orchestra share the inspiration

The Charles City Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band and Orchestra held its concert, “Music Inspires,” Tuesday at North Grand Auditorium.
The band is directed by Renee Boss and the orchestra is directed by Bethany Otte.
The orchestra performed an arrangement of “Lavender’s Blue” by Loreta Fin, “Bach County Fiddles” by Richard Meyer, “Beethoven Lullaby” by Brian Ballmages and “Gypsy Moon” by Frank Halferty. The CCMS Chamber Ensemble also performed “Reindeer Romp” by Betty Dardess and Antonio Vivaldi’s “A Vivaldi School Year,” arranged by Carrie Lane Gruselle.
The band performed “Lone Star Overture” by John O’Reilly, “Guardians of Liberty” by Paul Murtha and “The Magnificent Seven,” by Elmer Bernstein, arranged by Michael Story.
