Church goers put on their thinking caps on as St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church held a Trivia Night on Friday, Jan. 10.
“It’s just a fun night to break up the winter blues,” said organizer Kim Watkins.
Five teams of eight came out for an evening of snacks and brain teasers, testing their knowledge of sports, history, movies and more, each team competing for bragging rights and a selection of gag gifts. Each team also contributed to a charcuterie spread that was shared by all.
Along with providing an opportunity to socialize, the trivia event also served as a fundraiser for St. John’s, contributing to its upcoming parking lot project which is planned for this summer.
The church will be holding similar fundraiser events in the coming months, with a Puzzles and Pizza night planned for February and a Mystery Dinner set for March, each going to support the $500,000 project.
“Every little bit helps,” said Watkins.
