Richard ‘Rick’ Rogers
Richard “Rick” Rogers, 76, of Osage, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage with his loving family by his side.
A funeral Mass for Rick will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Reverend Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and continue one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for the Rick Rogers Memorial Scholarship.
Richard William Rogers, the son of Hilbert and Collette (Rennier) Rogers, was born on June 17, 1948, in Charles City. Rick graduated from Osage High School and attended NIACC and then attended Iowa State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Rick was united in marriage to Darlys King on Dec. 28, 1970. Rick entered into the United States Army from Oct. 18, 1970 to Oct. 18, 1973, where he was a food inspector while stationed out of Fort Leavenworth.
Rick was a lifelong farmer. He raised sheep, pigs, and cattle, as well as a variety of crops. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Orchard American Legion, and Cattlemen’s Association. He was also a board member for the Mitchell County Regional Hospital and trustee board member for Orchard Township.
Rick enjoyed watching tv, especially documentaries, westerns, and military movies. He was also an avid reader and collected antiques and toy tractors. Most importantly, Rick loved spending time with his family and his dogs. He and Darlys took many trips together and traveled around the United States. He supported his grandchildren in all of their sporting events and musicals. He also looked forward to Sunday drives with his family and going out to eat.
Rick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlys; daughter, Angie (Jim) Boehmer of Lake Mills; grandson, Lincoln (Cara) Boehmer and great-grandson, Canyon of Slater; grandson, Grant (Harmony) Boehmer of Forest City; grandson, Cael Boehmer of Waverly; daughter, Beth Ann (Jeremy Klobassa) Olson of Osage; twin granddaughters, Kendall and Kaitlyn Olson; grandson, Kolton Olson; son, Nick (fiancé Jordan Gardiner) Rogers of Washington, Iowa; grandson, Jaxon Rogers; granddaughters, Fraya and Piper Gardiner; son-in-law, Travis Tresch; brother, Monte (Pat) Rogers of Orchard; sisters: Theresa (Ron) Muhlenbruck of Osage, and Kathy (Jim) Orsland of Ankeny; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jennifer Tresch.
