Charles City Council reviews street budget

Budget season continued this week for the Charles City Council, which reviewed the Street Department budget during a workshop meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

More than just streets, the Street Department is responsible for leaf collection, tree trimming and removal, mowing, and the Shaw Avenue Composting site.

Street Superintendent Tony Stonecypher ran through the budget with the council, discussing the city’s priorities for the department for the year, ranging from sidewalk repair reimbursement to making plans for the Main Street Bridge.
