It was a fun night at the fairgrounds as the Floyd County Fair hosted a Bourbon and Beer Tasting event on Friday, Nov. 10.
“The fair board likes to do a fall event and this is what we chose this year,” said fair board member Amy Staudt.
Guests lined up to sample a selection of bourbon supplied by Chubby’s Liquor and beers crafted by Tellurian Brewing.
Beyond the brews, a spread of appetizers and sandwiches was supplied by Ginger’s Top Shelf out of Floyd, which both catered and served as co-host for the event along with Wegner Farms.
Providing a show along with dinner and drinks, Tad Barry served as the master of ceremonies for the evening, introducing comedians Brody Tupy, Leslie Mitchell, and James Draper.
Funds raised during the show will go toward supporting the Floyd County Fair’s wish list of improvements, which includes new picnic tables and a new sound system for the grandstand.
Selling out of tickets, the show was a resounding success for the fair board and sets a new bar for doing something even bigger for next year.
“We’ll try again next year and try to get some bigger numbers,” said Staudt.
