The Central Springs Community School District Board of Education has named Wade Grinhaug as the district’s next superintendent, the district announced.
Grinhaug currently serves as associate high school principal in Ankeny Community School District, where he has led a team of 90 educators in designing and implementing a school-wide curriculum to enhance student engagement and improve academic performance, the Central Springs District said in a news release.

“He collaborated with district administrators and community stakeholders to establish partnerships and strategic plans for school improvement,” the district said. “He also supervised the opening of a new academic wing and weight room in the high school, and engaged in strategic discussions on the future opening of a third high school program in the district.”
The Central Springs District includes part of the northeast corner of Floyd County. It has district offices, the high school and an elementary school in Manly, and a middle school and elementary school in Nora Springs.
Grinhaug has a background in student-centered decision making and has previously worked in various roles within the same district, including dean of students and special education teacher, the Central Springs District said.
“It is an incredible honor to be appointed as the next superintendent of the Central Springs Community School District,” Grinhaug said. “I look forward to working closely with the dedicated educators, students, and families in this outstanding school district community.”
”It was a great experience to tour both campuses and to meet several staff, students and community members during the interview process,” he said. “I am excited to be a part of the community and look forward to building meaningful relationships with all stakeholders in the community.”
Grinhaug holds a master’s degree in education leadership from Drake University and is anticipating completing a doctor’s degree in education in the next year. He has 15 years of experience in education. He and his wife, Rachel, have four children.
