Charles City tourism committee awards grants

The Hotel/Motel Tax Tourism Steering Committee approved three grant applications during its meeting on Thursday, March 6.

Of the three grant applications received, Floyd County Conservation was awarded $500 for marketing and tourism; the Floyd County Museum was awarded $1,230 to advertise this summer’s Heritagefest; and the Main Street Charles City Design Committee was awarded $2,430 to go toward replacing street light banners.

The next application deadline for grants will be Sept. 30.
