Patrons of the Charles City Public Library will have to change their approach for the foreseeable future.

Last Friday, the front sidewalk was fenced off as work progresses on the neighboring City Hall/Police Department building. City Administrator Steve Diers said that the area will remain fenced off for the duration of the project.

However, while the sidewalk is closed off from the Clark Street side, the library’s front doors are still accessible from the south side of the building.

“We are open!” said Assistant Director Dana Schwickerath. “If you park in the back parking lot, there is a pathway to the front sliding doors.”
