Lincoln Elementary students showcased their artistic education with a Fine Arts Night program on Monday, March 31.
“We’re super excited to show you all that we’ve been learning about music and arts,” said music director Katelyn Kluver.
Coming together in the Comet Gym, the second, third, and fourth grade classes each performed a set of songs that demonstrated the musical skills they’ve been working on throughout the year. From group singing to coordinated body movements to percussion rhythm and note reading, each song featured a performing skill.
“We didn’t just pick songs based on a theme,” said Kluver. “I picked some of their favorite activities and worked them into the songs.”
After the musical program, the audience was invited to roam the halls of the middle school for the art show portion of the event where the various art projects the students have worked on were on display.
The school’s celebration of fine arts will continue on Tuesday, April 1, as Washington Elementary students will present a concert and art show of their own. Meanwhile, high school students this week will be setting up at the Charles City Arts Center for the High School Arts Show, starting on Friday, April 4.
