Animals took over the Charles City Public Library as about 60 kids came out for the Build-a-Stuffy fundraiser on Saturday, April 5.
From tigers to zebras to penguins, kids selected an animal to stuff with fluff and make their own. When they were finished, they got to have a snack with their stuffy and read it a story.
“I think everybody had a great time,” said Children’s Librarian Stacey Leerhoff.
The fundraiser was put on by the Friends of the Library, which has stepped up its support of the library as state revenue cuts tighten the budget.
“They supply for a lot of things,” said Leerhoff.
