ISU Extension served a free lunch for the community on Wednesday, April 9, as part of ISU Extension & Outreach Week.

“We are here to celebrate our partnerships,” said Regional Director Amy Hunzelman.

The two-day event began with a seed giveaway on Tuesday where more than 50 people picked up packets of flower and vegetable seeds to plant for the spring growing season.

Then, on Wednesday, the extension office hosted a free hamburger lunch courtesy of Hy-Vee, which donated the food, and the Floyd County Cattlemen, whose members grilled up the burgers.

Families, 4-H members, and passer-bys stopped in to enjoy a meal, pick up some extra seeds, and grab some free goodies from the event.
