The annual Elks Lodge community Easter Egg hunt will be held Saturday morning, with hundreds of candy-filled eggs placed for finding at the lodge property.
Casey Eaves, leading knight for Elks Lodge No. 418, who is in charge of organizing the event this year, said about 600 eggs will be stuffed with candy tonight (Tuesday). Elks members are invited to the lodge beginning at 5:30 p.m. to help.
The eggs will be “hidden” on Saturday morning, then the hunt will begin at 11 a.m.
Eaves said the younger kids will start out first, with the older kids starting in the back.
The candy is again being donated this year by Ronnie Hellman from the Dairy Queen, as he has for many years. And a few of the eggs will contain special surprises, Eaves said.
Following the hunt, participants can gather in the Lodge to return the emptied plastic eggs and have some cookies and punch.
