His dedication to his country was evident, and he was proud to have served in Michigan, Texas, Florida, and ultimately retired from the Air Force in Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 1, 1984.

Following his military retirement, John’s life took a new and joyful turn when he married Diane Robinson on Aug. 29, 1992, in Wasilla. John often said that his life began again when he met Diane, and together they created a life full of love, travel, and adventure. They shared many wonderful years together, especially enjoying the company of their children and grandchildren. John’s love for family extended to his three children and Diane’s two, as they became one blended family.

Together they shared a love of travel, especially cruising. Many of their happiest memories were made visiting their grandchildren and exploring new destinations. Including their final trip to Alaska together last year. They spent countless hours traveling in their motorhome, taking in the sights and sounds of the U.S. and visiting numerous NASCAR tracks.

John was a lifetime member of the Wasilla, Alaska VFW Post 9365, where he proudly supported fellow veterans. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Lake Havasu, Arizona, where he and Diane enjoyed countless hours together, sharing meals, entertainment, and laughter with friends.
