Richard ‘Dick’ C. Knight

Richard “Dick” C. Knight 88, of both Charles City and New Hampton , died Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in New Hampton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Charles City. A private graveside will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Croix Hospice.

Richard Clark was born on Feb. 15, 1937 in New Hampton, the son of Arnold Ray and Irene Lucille “Hisrote” Knight. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps as a Corporal serving from 1956 until 1959. Richard was united in marriage to Judy Ash, on Oct. 26, 1974 in Charles City. Dick was an inspector for White Farm until its closing. He then was the manager for the Parkview motel, and then worked at Floyd County Memorial Hospital and finally at the Floyd County Courthouse. He lived in New Hampton for 30 years and then moved to Charles City and finally back to New Hampton. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Moose Lodge in Charles City. He enjoyed golfing, remodeling his home, and liked horse racing and fishing. He was an accomplished musician and sang songs. He wrote “The Iowan in Me” which became published. He also wrote poetry and received an award from the Governor of Iowa.

Those thankful in sharing his life are his three daughters, Shannon and her husband Mark Walters, Fairbanks, Alaska, Heather and her husband Chris Mead of New Hampton and Angela knight, of Hampton. Also surviving are his siblings Marilyn Knight, Susan Hastings, roger and Dennis Knight. He has 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceding Richard in death are his parents, wife Judy in 2000, and siblings Mavis Levsen, Carol Severin, William, Don, Bob and Harry Knight.
