Dr. Dennis E. Walsh

Dennis Eugene Walsh, 72, formerly of Charles City passed away at the Mitchell County Regional Hospital, March 2, 2025.

Dennis (Denny) was born Jan. 9, 1953 in Waverly, IA. He was the ninth child of Clark and Mary Avis (Lawrie) Walsh of Charles City. Dennis was brought up in the Catholic faith, attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Charles City High School. He attended the University of Iowa and was the Valedictorian of his class from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, IA.

Dennis practiced with Breitbach Chiropractic and later owned Life’s Way Chiropractic and Massage in Charles City.

Growing up, Denny loved to swim, ice skate, snow and water ski, canoe and camp with his brothers. Many canoe trips were made with his brothers to the Upper Iowa River. In 1973, he and two of his brothers made the trip of a lifetime through the Canadian Rockies. The highlight of the trip was a ride in open jeep on the Going to the Sun Road.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ann Walsh Culbert and his brother-in-law Donovan Ochs. He is survived by his eight siblings:

Michael (Anastasia) of Windsor Heights, IA, Joan Ochs of Coralville, IA, William (Cathy) of Scottsdale, AZ, Kathleen (Jerry) Bill of Charles City, Margaret Walsh of Johnston, IA, Rosemary (Don) Hildebrand of Gladwyne, PA, Patrick (Nancy) of Wayzata, Minn. and David (Angie) of Athens, Ga. Dennis is survived by 25 nieces and nephews plus numerous great nieces and nephews.

His family will gather at a later date for his interment in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.
