Donna Gerhard

Donna Gerhard, 86, of Greene, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City surrounded by her family. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Roseville Catholic Church. Burial will be at Roseville Cemetery. Visitation will 4-7 p.m., Monday, at Woodley Funeral Home, Greene. Woodley Funeral Home is caring for Donna and her family.

Donna Ann Gerhard was born Jan. 8, 1939, at Charles City, a daughter of Donald and Geraldine (Betts) Osier. She attended 4 years of country school then 5 years at Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Greene High School in 1957.

Donna was united in marriage to Gary Gerhard July 10, 1959, at Roseville Catholic Church. They lived on a farm near Marble Rock where they raised their four children. Donna also worked at the Candle Shoppe in Greene then later retired from Allstate Quality Foods in Charles City having worked as a supervisor for many years.

Donna’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Her faith in God was top priority as well. She loved crossword puzzles, scratch tickets and going to the riverboat casino in Marquette as well as fishing with her husband. In recent years she became a HUGE fan of Facebook, keeping up with all the happenings around the area.

Living family include her husband of 65 years: Gary; children: Tim Gerhard, Mason City; Jackie Adams (Jim Ertl), Greene; Mike Gerhard (Laura Wood), Clear Lake; grandchildren: Kristie Bales; Jamie (C.J.) Goltz; Adam (Megan) Popp; Cole Gerhard; Kaycee Gerhard; Ashley (Brian) Gansen; Chase Adams; Madison (Chris) Engels; Cade Gerhard; Maci Gerhard (Logan Renz); siblings: David (Linda) Osier, Alpine, CA; John (Judy) Osier, Greene; Marge (Jerry) Geitzehauer, Anamosa; Barb (Steve) Schroeder, Naberville, ID; Deb (Tom) Heidenwirth, Greene; sisters-in-law: Jan Osier, Charles City; Diane Osier, Cedar Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Donna is welcomed in heaven by her parents, her son John, brothers Ron, Gene (Pat), Jim, Lyle and Dan Osier, sisters Phyllis (Dean) Groshens, and Sharon Krominga, niece Julie Tucker and great niece Emma Lukes.
