Sharon Jaeger-Madsen
Sharon Jaeger-Madsen, 86, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.
A memorial service for Sharon Jaeger-Madsen will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in the chapel at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City, Iowa with Sister Diana Blong from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating.

Sharon Rae (Schilling) Jaeger-Madsen, the daughter of Donald and Florabelle (Hamilton) Schilling, was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Charles City. She graduated from Waterloo High School and continued her education at NIACC in Mason City, earning her degree as a nurse’s aide.
Sharon was united in marriage to Wayne Jaeger and this union was blessed with one son, Dana. Wayne passed away on Feb. 13, 1989. Sharon later married Merle Madsen and they were blessed with a loving relationship until Merle’s passing on Feb. 1, 2004.
Sharon worked in childcare, home health care in private homes, was a CNA at Salsbury Baptist Home for several years, a cook at the Comet Bowl and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Floyd County Medical Center.
Sharon was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Women’s Club, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, Senior Citizens Center and Carmelites. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandson, Beau.
Living family members include her son, Dana (Lisa) Jaeger of Cedar Falls; granddaughter, Kaleigh (Tanner) Bonorden of Janesville; grandson, Andrew Jaeger of Cedar Falls; great-grandson, Beau Bonorden; along with other family members and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands: Wayne Jaeger and Merle Madsen.
