Dr. Robert F. Pint

Dr. Robert F. Pint, 95, of Davenport, Iowa went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, April 7, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd in the Koning Chapel at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Ridgecrest Village. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Grandview Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert was born Dec. 23, 1929 in Osage, Iowa, the son of William E. and Bessie P. (Mullen) Pint. He met the love of his life and married Norma Jean Regel on Sept. 21, 1946 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They were blessed with a son, Donald, and a daughter, Vicki.

Following his graduation from Hanlontown High School in 1956, Robert received his B.A. from ISC in 1960, his M.A. from UNI in 1962, his Specialist Degree from WIU in 1970, and his PhD from Walden University in Naples, Florida in 1972.

Robert worked for 13 years as a machinist, millwright, and tool maker at Oliver Corp., American Crystal Sugar Co., Viking Pump Co., and J.I. Case. He also had a 30-year career in education that encompassed teaching high school sciences in Nashua, Iowa for five years, middle school sciences in Bettendorf for ten years, and 14 years of elementary principalship in the Bettendorf Community School District. He retired in June of 1989. Some of his memberships included I.O.O.F., Moose Lodge, TriBeta Science, Iowa Association of Retired Teachers, NEA, and ISEA.

Robert and Norma spent their retirement years in various volunteer services. While they wintered in Phoenix, he taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade science at the homeless school to give them a better education. They also spent their retirement years enjoying extensive travel. They visited all 50 states in the U.S., every Canadian Providence, and many countries including Mexico, Norway, China, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Greece to name a few. They also made several special anniversary trips to Hawaii, including their 70th wedding anniversary in 2016.

Robert was always willing to help anyone he could, share his knowledge, and support and provide for his family. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, piloting and flying, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Pint of Bettendorf; and his daughter-in-law, Jana Pint of Arkansas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; son, Donald R. Pint; brothers, Raymond, Leo, Harold, and Bill; and sisters, Viola and Esther.
