Vernon ‘Bud’ Carr

Vernon “Bud” Carr, 89, of Charles City, passed away peacefully on Nov. 30, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 28, at Bayou Bend, 1304 Gilbert St., Charles City.

Vernon was born and raised in Charles City. He was employed for many years as an aerospace engineer in Los Angeles, Calif., where he also raised his family. He retired from White Motor (Oliver Tractor) after moving his family back to Iowa in 1969.

He is survived by three daughters: Susan (Stewart) Gile, Sally (Tom) Price, and Sandra Carr; one brother, Ken Carr; one sister, Pat (Dale) Midland; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Catherine “Phyllis” Vestal-Carr; grandson, Michael Gile; and his parents.
