Leah Beth Waddingham

Leah Beth Waddingham, 87, of Bismarck, N.D., passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, N.D. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service and will continue on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Leah Beth was born on Sept. 10, 1928, in Charles City, the daughter of Lloyd and Iva Ruth Lindsley, growing up on the family farm. She graduated from Nashua High School in May of 1945 and taught school at Bement School District No. 3 the following fall. She married Lloyd W. “Waddy” Waddingham at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua in 1946. Leah, Waddy, and their five children moved to Bismarck, N.D. in 1959, where Waddy managed the Osco Drug Store.

Leah Beth was an avid supporter of the arts; particularly the musical endeavors of her children. Throughout her life, she was a very creative and independent woman. She was an avid and competitive golfer, bowler, fisherman, and card player. Leah Beth enjoyed creating many different types of arts and crafts, bringing a little beauty to everyone with her project.

Family was a huge part of Leah’s life and pride. She was especially proud to be a great-great-grandmother and was very proud of all of her grandchildren.

Leah Beth is survived by her daughter, Randa Jo; daughterin- law, Char; daughter, June (Allen); son, Rex (Kelli); grandchildren, Tammy Lynn, Jeannette Jo (Rick), Robert (Molly), and Jessica (Matt); great-grandchildren, Nikki, Kala (Uriel), Kirsti Jo (Sean), Matthew, Nathan, Leah, Dylan, and Ella; and great-great-grandchildren, Lillian, Abigail, Hayley, Allison, Mario and Neymar. She is also survived by her brother, Daryl (Patty) and sister, Lola Saholt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Kristy Kay; sons, Lloyd and Bob; brothers, John “Bud,” Lloyd, and Bob; sisters, MaryBelle Larsh, Dorothy Becker, Ruth Vest, Alice Lincoln, and Edith O’Neal; and great-grandson, Levi.
