Jerry Groesbeck

Jerry Stephen Groesbeck, 81, of Charles City, IA died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

A service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019 with a one hour prior visitation at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St, Charles City. Deacon Regan Banks will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
Jerry was born on March 10, 1938 in Charles City to Stephen and Leona (Rowley) Groesbeck. He attended school in Floyd through 10th grade then began working on his family’s farm. Jerry worked for most of his life at Weyerhaeuser in Waterloo and for several years at Tent and Awning in Mason City.

In his free time he really enjoyed CB radios and was part of a CB radio club, snowmobiling club and bowling league captain. Jerry was an excellent pool player and known as a “pool shark,” back in his younger years. He liked convertibles, cold beer, conversation with the ladies and casinos.

Those left to cherish his memory include two children, Michael Groesbeck and Amy Miller; two grandchildren, Hillary Brooks and Mariah Miller; four great-grandchildren, Lillian, Noah, Avery and Dominic; brother, Alan Groesbeck; brother-in-law, Veryl “Doc” McLaughlin; sister-in-law, Ruth Groesbeck; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Barney and Ronnie and sister Darleen.
