She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, past president of Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church at Messiah Lutheran Church, I.S.E.A., NEA, and Ruth Circle. She enjoyed attending all ball games, track and field, and cross country events. She loved going out to the farm, especially to watch the cows. She also enjoyed reading and cross stitching.

Living family members include her sister-in-law, Shirley Shipley of Grimes; niece, Leann (Steve) Reiste; great niece and nephew, Laura and Jared; and close friends: Elaine Poppinga, Becky Becker, Malayne Meyer, Sarah Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell, Tim Mitchell; and “adopted families” from Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, and Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, LeRoy Shipley.
