The Charles City Softball Winter Camp for future Comet players will be Sunday, Jan. 3 in the High School gymnasium. The cost is $20 per child. Make checks payable to Charles City Softball.
Pick up application forms and turn in money to the YMCA.
The camp will be instructed by Charles City head softball coach Brian Bohlen, assistant softball coaches Karleen Sickman and Dana Sullivan, as well as some varsity softball players and volunteers.
“I would like to invite the parents or guardians to stay and listen to the instruction being given at the camp so that you can use the information throughout the softball season,” Bohlen said. “We will be covering fundamentals in throwing, fielding, batting, pitching and catching.”
There will be two sessions. The first is for fourth-and fifthgrade players. The schedule is: 4-4:45 p.m. hitting, 4:45-5:30 p.m. defensive fundamentals, and 5:30-6:30 p.m. pitchers and catchers.
The second session is for sixth and seventh grade. The schedule is 6:30-7:15 p.m., 7:15-8 p.m. defensive fundamentals, and 8-9 p.m. pitchers and catchers. — Staff Report
