Comets power past Vikings 7-0, advance to district final
Charles City senior Atticus Parrott had a 2-run homer to start things off while helping lead the Comets past Decorah 7-0 in the Class 3A-District 6 semifinal on Friday. Parrott combined efforts with starter Tait Arndt, who also homered, for the 1-hit shutout.
JJ Ritter had a third homer for the Comets, who will host South Tama at 7 p.m. Monday in the district final. South Tama upset Waverly-Shell Rock 4-2 in their semifinal.
