Charles City Youth Football holding registration/ information meeting for flag and tackle leagues

The Charles City Youth Football program, a division of the Youth Sports Foundation, will hold registration as well as an information meeting for its Youth Flag Football and Youth Tackle Football leagues from 5 to 7 p.m., April 22 at the Charles City YMCA, 800 Hulin St.

* YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL: The league is for any Charles City youth entering grades 3 and 5, and grades 5 and 6 in the fall of 2022. Age policy for the grade 3-4 division requires that the player must turn at least 7 years old during their 3rd grade school year and must not turn 11 before Sept. 15 of their 4th grade school year. Age policy for the grade 5-6 division requires that the player must turn at least 10 years old during their 5th grade school year and must not turn 13 before Sept. 15 of their 6th grade year.

Youth Flag Football begins the week of Aug. 15. The program includes introduction to the fundamentals of football, a YSF reversible jersey (each player keeps), and a six-game schedule. Games are played on Saturdays beginning Sept. 10.

Both parent/guardian and youth should attend the registration. Registration fee is $65 (cash, check and credit card accepted). Online registration is available at www.youthsportsfoundation.org with a $5 processing fee added. A late fee of $30 will be accessed after July 8. Refunds (less $30) offered up until 3:30 p.m., Aug. 26.

Both parent/guardian and youth must attend the registration — players are to be fitted for equipment at this time. Registration fee is $160 — an optional hard cup chin strap is offered for an additional $20 (cash, check and credit card accepted). Online registration is available at www.youthsportsfoundation.org with a $5 processing fee added. A late fee of $30 will be accessed after July 8. Refunds (less $30) offered up until 3:30 p.m., Aug. 26.
