The Charles City Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire early Wednesday morning on July 31.

According to the department’s social media page, firefighters were called at 4:24 a.m. to the 300 block of 13th Avenue where a sanitation truck was fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants of the vehicle were able to safely get away and while the firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, the cab appears to be a complete loss.
