A private family burial will be at a later date.

Randal E. Leslie was the son of Vicky (Roger) Zimmerman and Marion Leslie. His adoptive parents were Maria (Danny) Janssen. He was  born on April 24, 1989, in Charles City, IA. He received his education in Nashua High School, graduating in 2007.

Randal was the youngest of four boys. He was the life of the party. Randal had a loving gentle soul; he would give the shirt off his back. He was happy-go-lucky with a ton of jokes to lift anyone up. Randal loved going fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and drinking his Mountain Dew Code Red. Randal enjoyed spending time with his mother, Vicky, on the weekends, spending time with his brother, Franklin, and his father, Marion. He idolized his big brother John. He did everything he did and had to have the same things John had. That is what little brothers do.

During his young years, Randal enjoyed camping with his family, going on trips to amusement parks, hanging out with all his cousins, spending weekends with his many aunts and uncles, enjoying his time with Danny and Maria out on the farm, and playing video games with his brother John.

Living family members include his son, Jordan, age 9; his mother Vicky (Roger) Zimmerman; father Marion Leslie; brother Franklin Leslie; adoptive mom Maria Janssen; maternal grandparents Jane Herman of Charles City, IA, and Clyde Parker of Northwood, IA; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Randal was proceeded in death by adoptive father Danny Janssen in October 2013; paternal grandfather Marian Russell Leslie, July 1990; grandmother Mary Pebble Leslie, Sept. 2018; brother Russel Leslie Carpenter on Jan. 16, 2001; John Leslie Carpenter on Sept. 16, 2019.

He will be laid to rest with his hero, John Leslie Carpenter.
