LeRoy McDonald, 78, of Charles City, passed away Feb. 28, 2023.

A celebration of LeRoy’s life will be held at a later date.

LeRoy Lester McDonald, the son of Chester “Chet” and Laura (Brooks) McDonald, was born on June 22, 1944, in Charles City. LeRoy was united in marriage to Ruth Lectenburg on May 11, 1974. The couple moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota before returning back to Charles City. To this union, three children were born, and the couple later divorced.

LeRoy was a very hard worker and was employed at a variety of companies. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and billiards.

LeRoy is survived by his son, Matthew (Randi) McDonald; his daughters; his sister, Peggy (Larry) Oleson; his brothers: Roger (Sharon) McDonald and Dan McDonald; along with grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Laura; brother, Richard Randals; and sister-in-law, Li-Ying (Liu) Randals.
