First Citizens wins Give Back Iowa Challenge

First Citizens Bank and its employees will be honored by Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds for winning the 2016 Give Back Iowa Volunteer Challenge in the medium size business category. The presentation will begin at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3 in the Heritage Room at First Citizens Bank at 2601 4th Street SW, Mason City.

First Citizens Bank’s employees competed in the Give Back Iowa Challenge in April and May 2016. They completed the most number of volunteer hours per person in the medium-sized business category. Size was based on number of employees. First Citizens’ 213 Iowa employees completed 1,421.35 volunteer hours during the two month time period. That averages out to over 6.6 hours of volunteerism per employee.

The Give Back Iowa Challenge was open to all businesses in Iowa to encourage volunteerism.

A short reception will be held from 9-10 a.m. with the governor speaking briefly at 9:15 a.m.
