Charles City police say in court documents that Isaac Charles Brown, 29, entered a home without permission in the 400 block of Richings Street at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, and got into a physical confrontation with his ex-girlfriend.

Another person in the home tried to help the woman and was injured when Brown struck him with a space heater and a Corona beer bottle, police said. The man had an open wound on his left hand, a cut on his right hand and a cut on top of his head, the report said.

Brown also has been charged with domestic abuse assault, second offense, for an event that allegedly occurred July 3, 2017.

He also faces three charges of contempt of court for violation of a no contact/protective order for incidents that allegedly took place on Dec. 14, 2017; on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2017; and again in relation to the alleged incident that occurred Saturday.

Brown was released under supervision of the Department of Correctional Services. He is being represented by Nellie O’Mara of Mason City.
