Wandro leads Comet golfers to 2nd win of season

OSAGE — A day after shooting a medalist 9-hole score of 49 in a 1-stroke loss to Crestwood during a home meet at Cedar Ridge, Charles City senior Gen Wandro improved 1 stroke herself with a season-low score of 48 to lead the Comets past Osage, 210-226, Tuesday at Sunny Brae Golf Course.

Abby Milligan carded a 50, Mija Cotton scored a 53 and Marissa Daniels’s 59 rounded out the scoring for the Comets, who shot a season-low as a team while winning their second match of the season.

“Kudos to Gen for her runner-up finish and to Abby for having the third-best score on the night,” said Charles City coach Eric Johanningmeier, who is happy with his team’s continued progress.

Macy Ott led the Green Devils with a medalist score of 47.
